Therapy for individuals and relationships seeking connection, desire, and self-acceptance.
A space where your story is safe and your needs are seen.
Rediscover trust, pleasure, and deeper understanding—together or on your own.
I work with individuals and those in relationships to explore any barriers to intimacy, communication and sexual wellbeing with openness, curiosity and care.
As a psychosexual therapist in training, my aim is to create a space where you can feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to go deeper, and empowered enough to move toward the connection and confidence you deserve. My hope is that you leave each session feeling more grounded in yourself, more connected to your needs, and more at ease with intimacy—whether that means rebuilding trust with a partner or reconnecting with your own body.
I understand that looking for a therapist to work with can feel a bit daunting. You might be feeling a bit nervous or overwhelmed, especially if it's something you haven't done before. Perhaps you're wondering if talking therapy can actually help or if what you're experiencing warrants seeking therapy in the first place. These thoughts and questions are normal when first thinking about therapy and you're not alone in wondering.
If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch by emailing info@jesstownsendtherapy.co.uk, my inbox is always open and I'm happy to answer any queries.
I'm an integrative counsellor which means I draw upon a variety of counselling approaches. This is to ensure that I am using the best approach that suits you as I believe that every relationship and individual will have different needs.
I am registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and adhere to their ethical guidelines.
I am also a student member of COSRT.
I am studying towards a Diploma in Clinical Sexology & Relationship Therapy (psychosexual therapy). It will allow me to work on a deeper level with relationships and individuals who are looking to explore sexual difficulties and the sexual intimacy in their relationships.
Individual counselling offers you space to explore whatever feels difficult, confusing, or stuck—whether it’s around relationships, intimacy, self-worth, or addictive patterns. Together, we can look at the thoughts, behaviours, or experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing or emotional connection. This is your time to slow down, reflect, and move toward change at your own pace.
Sex therapy offers a supportive space to explore your relationship with intimacy, desire, and sexuality—without pressure or judgment. Whether you're experiencing low libido, pain during sex, erectile/arousal difficulties, or past experiences that feel hard to talk about, our work together can help make sense of what’s happening for you. At your pace, we can begin to rebuild trust in yourself and in your capacity for connection, helping you move toward a more confident, authentic sexual self.
Counselling for gambling addiction provides a respectful and supportive space to explore the patterns and feelings behind your gambling behaviour. Whether you’re seeking to understand triggers, manage urges, or rebuild control, we’ll work together to uncover the emotional needs gambling may be masking. This is your opportunity to create healthier habits, strengthen your wellbeing, and move toward a more balanced, empowered life—on your terms.
